What are the Values for? Hagie Family Values
The values of an organization are those qualities we cultivate and preserve that form the foundation on which we perform our tasks and conduct ourselves. We have an entire universe of values, but some of them are so primary, so important to us that throughout the changes in society, government, politics, and technology they are STILL the “core values” we will abide by. In an ever-changing world, core values are constant. Core values are not descriptions of the work we do or the strategies we employ to accomplish our mission. The values underlie our work, how we interact with each other, and which strategies we employ to fulfill our mission. The core values are the basic elements of how we go about our work. They are the practices we use (or should be using) every day in everything we do. As we grow as a company, it has become more and more important to explicitly define the core values from which we develop our culture, our brand, and our business strategies. We call our core values the Hagie Family Values.

Make a difference by exceeding everyone’s expectations while being a bit unconventional in the process. As a company, and as individuals, we set ourselves apart from the rest by going above and beyond what’s expected to create an emotional impact on everyone we interact with. We believe it’s important to help those around us, both physically and financially. Our customers, vendors, co-workers, and community experience a spirit of kindness and generosity that will make a difference in their lives.
1) Deliver Wow
Passion is the fuel that drives us and our company forward. Our founder, Ray Hagie, was passionate, determined, and optimistic. These qualities are contagious, and those around him back in the 1940’s were inspired and motivated to develop a vision for the future. We value those qualities Ray had back then, and know that three generations later we must continue his vision with the same perseverance and drive. We believe that all individuals should wake up with a purpose – no alarm clock / no snooze button!
2) Be Passionate And Determined
At Hagie, it’s important to continually challenge ourselves both personally and professionally. We believe that inside each individual there is more potential than even they realize. Our goal is to help employees unlock that potential by creating the atmosphere for them to learn and grow. Employees must embrace the challenge and stretch themselves for that to happen. When we challenge ourselves to learn to adapt and be resourceful, we not only grow as individuals, but the company grows as well.

Hagie has a proud tradition of respect, honesty, and trust. Our company was founded on these three basic principles and we continue to treat everyone in the same manner today. With this strong foundation, communication thrives and relationships develop. We also see positive attitudes flourish in this environment – in fact, they’re contagious! We must make every effort to eradicate negative attitudes to ensure an enjoyable workplace. At Hagie, we’re all on the same playing field – no matter what position a person holds, we’re all peers. We truly appreciate the wisdom, experience, skills, and energy of all of our employees. Everyone has value and deserves the utmost respect, trust, and honesty!

At Hagie, we’re more than a team…we’re family! We strive to create a positive atmosphere that is warm, friendly, and exciting. We have a great spirit of camaraderie – we stand up for each other and share the “got your back” attitude. We support each other because we understand that we’re only as strong as our weakest link. We believe that the best teams not only work together, but also interact with each other outside of our facility…great ideas can blossom anywhere there’s a positive, creative environment. Collectively, we can move mountains. We’re a team!
5) Build A Positive Team And Family Spirit
We know that we must continually change to stay ahead of our competition. We will not fear change, but encourage, drive, and embrace it with enthusiasm. Our journey of continuous improvement began several years ago, and has resulted in numerous positive changes. Our competitors can copy our innovation and technology, but they cannot copy our people, our culture, our ability to react quickly, and our customer service. Today’s innovations are better than yesterday’s, but you can bet they’ll be even better tomorrow!
6) Embrace And Drive Change
At Hagie, we don’t want to think of ourselves as corporate and boring, so we laugh at ourselves and look for humor and fun every day. We find value in fostering differences and embracing diversity. We give our people the freedom to express their unique personality in their work and to be themselves, because we believe that’s how people function best.

We reward those that have the courage to take chances and are adventurous enough to “step outside their box”, because that’s where true innovation is found. If they’re not making mistakes, they’re not taking enough chances.
7) Create Fun And Be Adventurous
We continually strive to streamline our processes and eliminate waste. We’re always searching to find a better way as we’re not comfortable with status quo. At Hagie, we never lose our sense of urgency in making improvements for ourselves, our customers, and the environment. We set and exceed our own high standards, constantly raising the bar for competitors and for ourselves.
8) Do More With Less
We will carry ourselves with a quiet confidence that includes modesty, respect, and equality. There is no room for arrogance. Whether we’re celebrating our individual and team successes, or facing challenges, we will practice humility, listen with respect, and have the courage to admit that we don’t know everything. We understand the importance of humility in all levels of the company because long-term success depends on employees working side-by-side for the good of the company – a common goal. We believe, in the long run, that our character will speak for itself.
